Austin Top City for Finding Employment Now

AppleAustin3National staffing agency Adecco has named Austin the top city in the nation for finding work – right now – with its top hiring industries of Retail, Leisure & Hospitality; Technology; and Business and Professional Services.

Austin’s unemployment rate is at 3.3%, over 2 percentage points better than the national rate of 5.4%. Adecco looked at factors such as industries, cost of living, and the presence of companies with varied employment opportunities.

In a Forbes article, Adecco Regional Vice President Alyson Blake-Wilson was quoted, “Austin is a beautiful city with broad appeal that is becoming an even greater destination of choice for many job seekers. When asked why people choose to relocate to Austin, I hear the same consistent theme: the lifestyle is relaxed with a focus on the outdoors. This translates to a vibrant city with great restaurants, accessibility to healthy activities like hiking, biking and running and a city that takes pride in everything being uniquely local.”

Grand Rapids, Michigan; Nashville, Tennessee; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Jacksonville, Florida rounded out the top five.
