The University of Texas at Austin admitted 9,109 first-time, first-year undergraduates this Fall, marking its largest ever incoming class. The university also enrolled more total students than ever, with a total of 52,384. The previous all-time high was 52,261, set in 2002, according to UT News.
Additionally, the university set all-time highs in graduation rates: the four-year graduation rate rose to 73.5 percent and the six-year graduation rate rose to 87.8 percent. According to UT News, the university “implemented campus-wide student success programs and analyzed student data to provide proactive support for students to help them define and stick with a path toward graduation.” This included peer mentoring, academic support, and scholarship access.
